new job???!!!

I know I haven't blogged lately, but I've been saving up the past few weeks to drop some important info all at once. So here goes....A couple of weeks ago i got a call from a church in Little Rock Arkansas completely out of the blue (I mean i didn't have a resume out, I wasn't trying to make contacts, nothing. I was just working in the Sunset Mesa Daycare). On the phone was Matt Cook, a former Truett Grad and he asked to talk to me for a few minutes about a job possibility. I said sure. His Church (Second Baptist) is looking for a missions/outreach coordinator. He said that Second was the only church that didn't flee to the suburbs when poverty and the issues associated with that hit the downtown area and that they have a serious commitment to the downtown area. The church also wants to make a push towards doing more overseas missions. He asked me to write and talk about my dream job, so I sent him three pages of presuppositions i have about missions, and missional elements that I would want to include in a church job. They are flying me (Liz is coming to) to interview with the staff on Easter weekend. Liz and are both REALLY excited about the prospect of moving and working in this capacity at a church. If I did get hired, Liz would enroll full time in a FNP program. Here in NM she was only going to do a class at a time, and we would finish her schooling when we got back from living overseas.

I would covet the prayers of my friends, that Liz and I would both know if this is the right step.

I vote yes! And even though Arkansas ranks right up there with Louisiana as one of my least favorite states to drive through ... I would still come see you =). Love you.
